Fundraising

To kick-start your fundraising for this event, why not ask your friends and family to sponsor your steps with your dog?

Things to remember for successful day of fundraising:

Encourage everyone in your workplace to support you. Put up lots of posters and if you need more, please email us at events@bluecross.org.uk.

Ask your company for support. Many will match the amount you raise pound for pound - it’s great publicity for them too. Alternatively, you could ask them to sponsor some smaller prizes to support your fundraising activities.

Most importantly, have fun and enjoy your day spent with your best doggy friend.

Ideas for the day

We have a number of fundraising ideas to help you organise a fun day. If you can’t take your dog in to work with you don’t worry, we've included lots that different ways you can still help raise money.

Dress Down Day  -  Let everyone know that you are raising money for The Blue Cross and charge them £1 to take part by wearing what they like in the office for the day.

Midday Munchies  -  Make a tasty treat that your colleagues can’t resist and ask them for a donation.

Lunch Quiz  -  Download our quiz  questions and  answers sheets and charge everyone to enter your quiz. Buy a box of chocs (or get your boss to donate a prize) to present the winning team.

Stop Watch Challenge  -  Ask people to name as many dog breeds or doggie cartoon characters as they can in 60 seconds. Charge an entry fee and offer a small prize for the winner.

Tail Wag Sweepstake  -  How many wags of the tail your dog can make in a minute. Write out a sheet from one to 30 (or more if you think) and charge people for each guess. Offer a small prize to the winner.

Dog Nap Sweepstake  -  Similar to the Tail Wag Sweepstake, but get people to write down how long they think your pooch will sleep for.

Pat the Dog  -  Help everyone to de-stress and charge them to pat your dog.

Doggy Donation  -  Download our sponsorship form and ask people to sponsor you to bring in your dog.
